Woven

From its beginning in the Middle 1980's, the Woven Division has not looked back. From a small beginning, production capacities have been steadily extended over the years to meet the increasing needs of the customer. New design techniques were added to the factory in 1998 that permitted the looms to weave an effect that had the characteristics of the hand carving seen on hand knotted Chinese rugs. Later the same year a 100% heat set polypropylene woven rug line was also added that gave the distinctive tip definition of a fine quality hand woven wool rug.

At the present time our weaving plant has grown to utilize 32 high speed looms. The rising demand in several markets together with the active marketing of Al-Sorayai generally results in a well filled order book. For most periods of the year our looms are well booked in advance.

With our up to date technology, the Woven Division can match and exceed the styling abilities of any Wilton Weaver in the world. The machines have the very latest in computerization and will produce 3 times as many square meters per day when compared to our looms that were purchased new in 1985. With our new design systems, any idea can be converted into a pattern in a matter of a few hours and a sample can be made immediately after the design is completed.

The Woven Division has an efficient product design department that creates and prepares all designs for production. Many new designs are originated in the product design department, but original designs are also commissioned from international designers in Europe and America. Continually we introduce new designs during the year and especially for the market season each fall.

In addition to the woven rugs, the Woven Division also produces high quality wall-to-wall woven carpet for home use as well as the hospitality market. Several hotels have installed Al-Sorayai woven products in both guest rooms and dining areas. Al Sorayai employs several experts from all over the world in their woven operation in order to keep the quality and efficiency at its highest possible level.
